Insulated Garage Doors

At Wolverine Garage Doors, we always work hard to ensure you’re choosing the right product that meets your needs, and suits your property. This not only includes functionality and aesthetics, but also efficiency.

If your garage is attached to your house, especially with a room above it, you could be losing money due to the heat escaping through your walls/floor, and ultimately your garage door. Even if you have a standalone garage, a well insulated door helps to protect your belongings as well as make it more comfortable for other activities, such as working out.

With the arrival of COVID, lots of people are also now working from home, and converting garages into offices has become incredibly popular. The garage door is often an overlooked aspect of this conversion, and again heat can escape through the garage door even if an internal room has been boarded.

An insulated garage door can often pay for itself over time, reducing heating bills and protecting prized possessions.

Insulated Garage Door Benefits

We have over 20 years of combined experience supplying and fitting automated garage doors, and know which manufacturers can offer a high quality product time and time again. The manufacturers we use also offer reliable and generous warranties, for added peace of mind.

Below are our preferred operators, though we are able to supply a wide range of mechanisms

WARMTH

The most obvious advantage of an insulated garage door is it’s warmth. As mentioned, if you use your garage for exercise, hobbies or to work from, an insulated garage door can make a huge difference to its comfort levels.

SOUNDPROOF

Insulated garage doors are more soundproof when compared to uninsulated garage doors. You won’t have to worry about noise complaints if you use your garage to practise instruments, or use it as a DIY workshop.

PROTECTION

If you store important possessions inside, or your car, insulation helps to protect these from mother nature. This is especially true for the wind and rain, which can cause dampness if not prevented.

SECURITY

Due to the thicker overall construction of an insulated garage door, often with foam reinforced cores, they are much more durable and secure.

Types of Insulated Garage Doors

Some garage doors are available insulated as standard, and at Wolverine we only work with highly respected and reputable manufacturers who offer the best protection. As well as this, existing garage doors can be insulated, helping you to save money and minimise disruption.

Sectional Garage Doors

Sectional garage doors are a popular choice due to their ability to open vertically instead of swinging outwards. As well as this, they can offer one of the highest levels of insulation due to their weathersealed framework and thick double skinned steel sections. These sections can then be foam filmed, which offers unparalleled levels of insulation as well as making the door stronger overall.

Side Hinged Garage Doors

Side hinged garage doors are a more traditional style of garage door, but are still able to be insulated with today’s modern standards. Some products are available with double skinned steel panels, improving thermals, soundproofing and security. This gives you the benefit of a timeless aesthetic, and up to date construction quality.

Canopy/Retractable Garage Doors

Sectional garage doors are a popular choice due to their ability to open vertically instead of swinging outwards. As well as this, they can offer one of the highest levels of insulation due to their weathersealed framework and thick double skinned steel sections. These sections can then be foam filmed, which offers unparalleled levels of insulation as well as making the door stronger overall.

Roller Garage Doors

Roller Garage Doors are incredibly popular due to their ease of use, vertical operation and appealing aesthetics. When insulated, each slat is foam-filled to offer effective protection, soundproofing and security. Insulated roller doors are usually double skinned and foam filled, making them much stronger than a single skinned, uninsulated roller

Insulating an Existing Garage Door

It is possible to insulate an existing garage door, and you often gain all the above benefits in the process. However, if your garage door is old it’s likely it isn’t up to the modern day standards that we’d usually expect. Technology has come a long way, and these days doors are built with much more consideration to insulation performance than they used to be.

At Wolverine Garage Doors we can advise you on the best approach to meet your needs and budget.

We have nothing but 5 star reviews across Google, and over 350 glowing reviews on Checkatrade, so you can be sure you’re in safe hands.

Just had Woverine round to check up and service the garage door they installed for us a while back, and once again absolutely top notch service from beginning to end. A quick and easy call to set up the visit, a call to say they'd be arriving soon, and a fast, efficient and tidy job. The initial installation and subsequent visits were exactly the same, these guys really understand what customer service means...highly recommended!

Called this morning with a broken garage door, one of the engineers (very friendly and polite) came out within 3 hours. Once here, I was expecting a temporary fix and to be informed that I'd need a new door but was pleasantly surprised by the honesty of the team. Both the manager whom I spoke to in the morning and the engineer were keen to find a fix rather than replace the whole thing if that were an option. They also offered a fix for a set amount which would be deducted from the price of a new door should we choose to replace it later. Excellent customer service - honest, friendly & professional! Definitely going back to the same place when we eventually need a new door!

The guys at Wolverine came to my rescue when the power went in my garage. The only way to gain access to the garage is through electric doors which...don't work when there's no electricity! The problem was solved efficiently and neatly.
